It's that time of the season once more, and we're waiting eagerly to find out who will grace the cover of this year's edition of Madden NFL 22. Two goats with one being noticeable older than the others caused a row in a barn . They emerged to show the date.
Although we have only just a few days until we can confirm who will be the next cover, we decided to take our time and go through the list of possible candidates who could be considered to be worthy of this honor. Below, you'll find our top-three options for both an individual cover and our top choices in the event that EA Sports decides to go with a cover featuring two players, which they appear to indicate they'll do in the teaser below.
Three of the past four Madden NFL cover athletes have been quarterbacks, so it is natural that our first option is one who lines up under center. After a 2020 season in which he was an MVP-level quarterback, Bills quarterback Josh Allen makes an excellent choice for the next edition of the Madden videogame franchise. Allen notched career-highs in passing yards and passing touchdowns this season, and had Buffalo in the process of securing the possibility of a Super Bowl appearance after appearing in the AFC Championship. At this stage in his career, Allen is already an established star. The Bills Mafia would love to have Allen's image and logo on the cover of the Super Bowl.
If you're not looking to cover the quarterback If you're not interested in covering the quarterback, then I'm not sure how you could ignore Derrick Henry. It was reported that there was a report in March that suggested Henry could be the cover's favorite athlete. While it's not certain if Henry is going to make the cover of this year's issue, it is sure that he's worthy. The massive running back at times appears like he's playing video game, as it seems like he is able to pass over opponents almost every single day. Henry was the league's top player in rushing back-to-back seasons and was able to beat every position player in the 2020 season for the longest number of years in a scrimmage (2141). If an entire season in which you average 126.7 rushing yards per game isn't enough to earn you the attention of Madden NFL, I'm not certain what else will.
While you may laugh at the thought of a defensive player making it onto the buy Madden 22 coins Cover, it's not uncommon. Richard Sherman was the last defense player to make the Madden NFL 15 cover athlete. Ray Lewis (Madden NFL 2005), and Troy Polamalu were also there. If you're looking to that particular side of the ball for a cover athlete, there's none more dominant than Donald who has been an active member of the 99 Club for four straight seasons. With this in mind the only place you can get to is to finally get on the right side of the ball.
